Angel from the Philippines: Finding A New Home in Canada

Today we shine our Student Spotlight on Angel Labuguen, who is currently studying towards an Associate of Arts degree! Originally from the Philippines, Angel had plans to enrol in a military academy before ultimately deciding to pursue higher education in Canada instead.

A Home Away From Home

Since enroling at sa传媒有限公司, Angel says the experience has been very welcoming. “I chose sa传媒有限公司 because I felt very supported,’ Angel says. “The smaller class size and welcoming environment stood out to me.”

Angel also appreciates the various student support services available at the college, such as the Writing and Learning Centre (WLC), which have been a great help to her academically.

Aside from academic support, Angel has also received support from student clubs such as the Philippines Club, which she became the vice-president of. Her involvement with student events and volunteer opportunities have allowed her to feel more connected with the community.

After graduation, Angel plans to continue her education in psychology and still plans to work in military services if the opportunity presents itself.
