Welcome to Canadian Job Readiness!

What Is It?

Canadian Job Readiness

Canadian Job Readiness (CJR) is an optional career development program recommended for students at sa´«Ã½ÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾. Whether you plan to continue your studies or transition into employment, CJR is designed to help you develop practical knowledge and tools to confidently navigate the Canadian workplace and prepare for future employment opportunities.

How Will It Benefit You?

Canadian Job Readiness covers topics such as:

  • Learning about Canadian workplaces and volunteer environments, including common workplace norms, expectations, and practices
  • Exploring job and volunteer search strategies, platforms, and online and offline resources
  • Learning how to prepare an effective resume and cover letter and reviewing examples and best practices
  • Building confidence through a mock interview while learning techniques for presenting yourself professionally
  • Developing self-motivation, time-management, goal-setting, and problem-solving skills through practical activities and assessment tools
How Long Does It Take?

CJR typically takes approximately 3–5 hours to complete, depending on your pace. The program can be completed online from the comfort of your home and allows you to work through the material at your own pace.

Although CJR is optional, students are encouraged to complete it to strengthen their career readiness and prepare for future employment opportunities in Canada. If you choose to participate, we recommend starting early in the term so you have plenty of time to complete the program.
