Today we will be featuring one of our students from Japan, Saori! Saori is currently studying towards an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in business.
With previous experience working in the business sector back in Japan, she has come to Canada to pursue further education in commerce and economics.
One of the reasons Saori chose to study in Canada is because of how safe Canada is as a country.
鈥淚鈥檝e been here for about a year and I鈥檝e never worried about my safety. It seems to be almost as safe as Japan!鈥
Another reason why Saori enjoys living in Canada is just how many international students she is able to meet. sa传媒有限公司, with its students coming from all around the world, is an excellent place to learn about different cultures.
In the 4 semesters that Saori has been studying at AC, she has given back to AC community by working as a student worker – a job opportunity she learned about after attending a Career Advising session.
Not only does she help others out as a student worker, Saori was recently elected as the Wellness and Advocacy Representative of the sa传媒有限公司 Student Association (ACSA).
As the Wellness and Advocacy Representative, Saori makes sure students know about the various mental health resources that are available at AC.

鈥淓ver since I鈥檝e been here, professors and staff members are always eager to help you!鈥
When it comes to future students wanting to study in Canada, Saori recommends setting goals and taking steps to achieve them, even before arriving in Canada.
For new and current students, she recommends reaching out to any support you can get from sa传媒有限公司.

From student worker to ACSA representative, Saori has made a lot of friends from all over the world and has had some unforgettable experiences. If you are seeking a rounded experience to supplement your academic journey, sa传媒有限公司 has many opportunities to broaden your horizons!
If you鈥檙e a current student at AC, we would love to hear our story! Contact us at social@alexandercollege.ca and you may have a chance to be featured in a future blog and video.
